Bellingrath Gardens and Home is a 65 acre estate located near Theodore, Alabama. Developed in the early 20th century, the property was originally a private fishing camp, then a hunting lodge, and is now a public garden and historical site.

The property is home to a 10,500 square foot mansion that was built in the Mediterranean Revival style. It was designed by Chares H. Spitzer and completed in 1934. The house and gardens were originally owned and developed by Walter and Bessie Bellingrath, and it is still owned and operated by the Bellingrath-Morse family.

The gardens span over 40 acres of lush plants, trees, shrubs and flowers. Highlights of the garden include the Camellia Garden, the Rose Garden, the Japanese Garden, the Herb Garden, and the Mirror Lake. The property also features a boat house, a reflection pond, and a number of outdoor sculptures.

The estate is open to the public year-round. Visitors can explore the gardens on guided tours, or take a self-guided tour of the mansion. There are also special events throughout the year, such as the Bellingrath Home and Garden Tour, the Christmas Lights Festival, and the Easter Eggstravaganza.
