Prairie Scale Model Railroaders is a non-profit organization based in Lombard, Illinois, dedicated to promoting and advancing the hobby of model railroading. The group was founded in 1973 and has since grown into a community of enthusiasts who share a passion for model railroads and trains.

The club operates a large HO scale model railroad layout that spans over 1,400 square feet and features multiple levels, intricate scenery, and a variety of operating systems. Members of the club spend countless hours designing, building, and maintaining the layout, which includes detailed replicas of buildings, landscapes, and railroads from different eras and regions.

In addition to operating the model railroad, Prairie Scale Model Railroaders regularly host events and exhibitions to showcase their hobby to the public. The club also offers educational programs and workshops for both adults and children to learn about the history and technology of railroads and model trains.

Membership in Prairie Scale Model Railroaders is open to anyone with an interest in model railroading, regardless of skill level or experience. Members have access to the club’s facilities and equipment, as well as the opportunity to participate in group projects and events. The club also provides a supportive and welcoming community for individuals to share their love of model trains and learn from one another.
