Lichtenberger House, North Street, New Harmony, IN Built in 1867, this Greek Revival-style I-house was once the home of the Lichtenberger family.  The house features a wooden clapboard-clad exterior, a five-bay front facade, six-over-six double-hung windows, a side-gable roof, a one-story gabled rear ell, a front door in the central bay of the first floor of the front facade with sidelights and a transom, and a Victorian front porch with stop-chamfered columns, a low-pitch gabled roof, and decorative brackets.  The building is a contributing structure in the New Harmony Historic District, designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1965, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966.

The Southern Illinois Association of Museums (SIAM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the museum industry in Southern Illinois. The organization was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Carmi, Illinois. SIAM works to promote the museum industry in the region by providing resources and support to museums, art galleries, and other cultural institutions.

SIAM is composed of members from over 30 different museums and cultural institutions in the region. The association provides educational and networking opportunities for its members, and works to foster collaboration and cooperation among its members. SIAM also organizes events and provides resources and information related to the museum industry.

SIAM is committed to promoting the public’s understanding and appreciation of the museum industry in Southern Illinois. The organization works to raise awareness of the importance of museums in the region and encourages public engagement through outreach and education.

SIAM is also involved in advocacy for the museum industry in the region. The organization works to ensure that museums have access to the resources and support needed to remain viable and successful in their communities. SIAM also works to ensure that museums in the region are given the recognition and respect they deserve.
