Lichtenberger House, North Street, New Harmony, IN Built in 1867, this Greek Revival-style I-house was once the home of the Lichtenberger family.  The house features a wooden clapboard-clad exterior, a five-bay front facade, six-over-six double-hung windows, a side-gable roof, a one-story gabled rear ell, a front door in the central bay of the first floor of the front facade with sidelights and a transom, and a Victorian front porch with stop-chamfered columns, a low-pitch gabled roof, and decorative brackets.  The building is a contributing structure in the New Harmony Historic District, designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1965, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966.

The White County Historical Society-Genelogical in Carmi, IL is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history and genealogy of White County, Illinois. The society was founded in 1966 and has been actively collecting and preserving artifacts, documents, and photographs related to the history of the area.
