The Orange Historical Society, located in Orange, Connecticut, was founded in 1972 to help preserve the history of the town. The mission of the society is to collect, preserve, and share the history of Orange and its surrounding communities.

The Society works to accomplish its mission through a variety of activities, including maintaining a museum and archives, hosting educational programs, conducting research and publications, and engaging in historic preservation. The museum houses a wide array of artifacts, photographs, and documents, which tell the story of Orange's past.

The archives contain a wealth of information about the town’s history, including records of local businesses, churches, and other institutions, as well as a variety of maps, photographs, and other documents. The Society also runs a library, which contains books, photos, and periodicals about the area’s history, as well as a genealogy collection.

The Orange Historical Society also engages in a variety of educational activities, such as lectures, walking tours, and exhibits. It also hosts an annual Heritage Day, during which the Society celebrates the town’s past with a variety of activities, including a parade, a 5K race, and a car show.

The Society works to promote the preservation of the town’s historic buildings, cemeteries, and sites. It also offers a variety of restoration grants for projects that help to preserve Orange’s historic resources.
