The History Guild of Daly City/Colma is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the unique history and heritage of Daly City and Colma, California. Founded in 1997, the Guild works to honor and educate the community by providing historical lectures, tours, displays and other events that promote the rich and diverse history of the area.
The Guild’s mission is to collect, preserve, and interpret local history and to encourage the appreciation of the area’s past by providing educational opportunities and public programs. To that end, the Guild collects and exhibits artifacts, photographs, documents, and other materials related to the two cities. The Guild also offers historical walking tours, lectures and workshops, and displays at local museums, libraries, and other venues.
In addition, the Guild publishes a quarterly newsletter and hosts an annual living history event. This event includes re-enactments of local historical scenes and activities, as well as a variety of exhibits and demonstrations. The Guild also works with local schools and other educational organizations to provide educational programs related to local history.
The History Guild of Daly City/Colma is committed to preserving and promoting the unique history and heritage of Daly City and Colma. Through its educational programs and events, the Guild works to ensure that the history of the area is remembered and appreciated by generations to come.
