The Amador County Historical Society in Jackson, CA, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the history of Amador County for its members and the greater community. Established in 1971, the Amador County Historical Society strives to collect, preserve and make accessible the records, artifacts and stories that tell the story of Amador County. The society operates two museums, the Amador County Museum and the Kennedy Gold Mine.

The Amador County Museum contains an extensive collection of artifacts and relics that tell the story of the history and culture of Amador County from the earliest Native American occupation to the present. The museum is housed in a two-story building in downtown Jackson and features changing exhibits, a research library and a gift shop. The Kennedy Gold Mine is a historic gold mine located in Jackson, CA. It is a popular tourist attraction and is home to a number of mining artifacts and interpretive programs.

The Amador County Historical Society also offers a variety of educational programs and events. These include lectures, workshops, field trips and special events that are designed to educate and inform the public about the history of Amador County. The society also produces a quarterly publication and a genealogy newsletter.
