The Sacramento River Delta Historical Society in Walnut Grove CA is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of the Sacramento River Delta. Established in 1969, the Society is responsible for the upkeep of the Delta's many historical sites and maintains an extensive collection of artifacts, photographs, documents, and other materials related to the Delta's past. The Society provides educational programs, workshops, and lectures for the public, as well as a research library and archives. In addition, the Society works to promote the Delta's environment and cultural heritage through conservation, preservation, and education.

The Society is also responsible for the preservation of the historic Walnut Grove Cemetery, which includes many gravesites of early Delta settlers. The Society owns and maintains the Delta Landmarks and Trails, including the Delta Museum, which consists of several historic buildings, including the Victorian-style Delta Hotel. The museum houses many artifacts and exhibits, including a replica of the first steamboat to navigate the Delta in 1848.

The Society is also involved in the preservation and promotion of the Delta’s agriculture. It hosts a number of agricultural events each year, including the annual Delta Cotton Festival, the Delta Corn and Tomato Festival, the Delta Prune Festival, and the Delta Wheat Festival. In addition, the Society produces educational materials about the history and culture of the Delta.

The Society's mission is to preserve, protect, and promote the history and culture of the Delta, and to create a greater understanding and appreciation of its past and its present.
