The Tulare Joint Union High School District Foundation was established in 1992 to assist the Tulare Joint Union High School District in Tulare, California. Its mission is to secure, manage and disburse funds to support and promote the education of the students in this district. The foundation provides financial assistance to students and staff of the district, as well as to organizations and programs that promote educational excellence within the district.

The foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors, comprised of community members from the district. It also has an executive director and a financial administrator. The foundation works to secure funds for the district through grants, gifts, bequests, and other donations. It also holds a variety of fundraising efforts each year, such as golf tournaments, auctions, and dinners.

Tulare / historic downtown (# 2444) Tulare is a town of 69,000 in Tulare County and is only 8 miles south of the much larger city (141,000 pop.) of Visalia. The economy of the area is primarily agricultural. The historic downtown section of Tulare was pleasant, with tree lined streets and well-preserved historic buildings such as this one. Unfortunately the only thing I could find about the building was a real estate site listing it as built in 1907.
Tulare / Linder & Harlow mural (# 2435) Though not a great picture due to shade, I found this mural of the local Linder & Harlow Carriage and Wagon Repository to be fascinating, since I’ve never seen anything about the sorts of facilities that would have been built for carriages. The mural was painted by a local in 1998 and one of the men on it is Reynold Linder who immigrated from German to Tulare in 1888. The mural is on the Linder building, though I’m almost certain this Linder building is not the same as the original Repository.
