The Downtown Medicine Mound Preservation Group (DMMP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and revitalizing the historic district of Quanah, Texas. Located in the heart of downtown, the DMMP was formed in 1997 to promote the preservation of the area’s unique history, culture and architecture. The DMMP works to protect and preserve the buildings and structures in the downtown area, and to promote the revitalization of the area’s businesses and attractions.
In addition to preserving the historical structures of the district, the DMMP also works to promote economic development, including the creation of new businesses, events and activities. The group works with local government and other organizations to attract new businesses and visitors to the area. DMMP also strives to preserve the historic character of the downtown district by advocating for the preservation of its many historic sites and buildings.
The DMMP also organizes annual events to bring the community together and celebrate the area’s rich heritage. These events include parades, music festivals, art shows, and other activities for the whole family to enjoy. The group also sponsors a variety of educational programs and workshops to help promote the area’s history and culture.
The work of the DMMP is essential to keeping the unique historical and cultural heritage of Quanah alive. Through their dedication and commitment to preserving the area’s past, the DMMP is helping to ensure that the legacy of downtown Medicine Mound will remain for generations to come.
