The Hardeman County Historical Museum in Quanah, Texas is a unique and vibrant museum dedicated to preserving the history of Hardeman County. The museum was established in 1996 and is located in the historic G.W. Tyler Building, which was built in 1900 and served as the office of the Quanah, Acme & Pacific Railway. The museum houses a variety of exhibits, artifacts, and photographs that showcase the history of Hardeman County.

The museum features permanent exhibits on local Native American tribes, the settlement of the area, early pioneers, and the Great Comanche Raid of 1874. The museum also houses a collection of photographs and artifacts from the early days of Quanah, as well as a variety of artifacts from the Civil War and World War II.

The museum also features a variety of special exhibits, such as “From the Plains to the Railroads: The History of Quanah, Acme & Pacific Railway” and “The Great Comanche Raid of 1874.” In addition, the museum hosts a variety of events throughout the year, such as lectures, book signings, and special events for kids.
