SARATOGA HISTORICAL FOUNDATION

The Saratoga Historical Foundation was established in 1963 to protect Saratoga's historical sites, artifacts and archives, and to educate its citizens about the local history of Santa Clara County. Located in the City of Saratoga, California, the Foundation's mission is to preserve the history of the area and to provide educational resources to the community.

The Foundation is a private, non-profit organization which owns and operates the Saratoga Historical Museum and the Saratoga History Park, a nine-acre open-air museum which exhibits artifacts, buildings and landscapes. The Museum is located on Big Basin Way, in the heart of Saratoga, and is open to the public every day. It houses permanent and rotating exhibits of artifacts, documents and photographs which tell the story of Saratoga's past. The History Park is located next to the museum and includes a 1,000-foot walking trail with interpretive signs and an historic orchard which features restored historic buildings, displays and gardens.

The Foundation also offers educational programs and events throughout the year, such as periodic lectures, workshops, field trips, and an annual history fair. Additionally, the Foundation owns and operates the Saratoga Heritage Preservation Center. The center is a research and preservation facility which houses the Foundation's archives, library and collections. It is also a resource for students, educators, historians and genealogists, who can study and research the area's history.

The Saratoga Historical Foundation works hard to preserve and share the history of Saratoga and the surrounding area. With its museum, park, educational programs and preservation center, the Foundation provides valuable resources to the community and contributes to the understanding of the area's past.
