Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association (BAHA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of Berkeley’s architectural heritage. Founded in 1973, BAHA works to protect Berkeley’s distinctive built environment and to promote an understanding of the city’s history and architecture. BAHA is involved in a variety of activities, from education and advocacy to preservation and restoration.

BAHA works to identify, document, and protect Berkeley’s historic resources. BAHA maintains a database of more than 5,000 historic buildings and sites in Berkeley. The organization also sponsors walking tours and architectural lectures, and publishes a newsletter to keep members informed about local preservation efforts.

In addition to its educational and advocacy efforts, BAHA also works to preserve and restore historic buildings in Berkeley. Through its Preservation and Restoration Committee, BAHA works with property owners and other organizations to facilitate the preservation and restoration of buildings. BAHA also provides grants to property owners to help with preservation and restoration efforts.

BAHA is an active member of the preservation community in Berkeley, and works to ensure that Berkeley’s unique architectural heritage is preserved and celebrated.
