Seneca County Museum is a historical museum located in Tiffin, Ohio. The museum is housed in the former home of a prominent Ohio family, the Grammes, built in 1884. The building itself is a notable feature of the museum, designed in the Second Empire style with a mansard roof and ornate details.

The museum features exhibits and artifacts that showcase the history of Seneca County, including the Native American tribes that lived in the area, the early settlers, and the industrial and agricultural development of the region. The museum has a collection of over 20,000 items, including photographs, documents, and artifacts such as tools, clothing, and household items.

One of the most notable exhibits is the Tiffin Glass Collection, which showcases the glassware produced by the Tiffin Glass Company from 1889 to 1980. The collection includes over 2,000 pieces of glassware, including decorative items, stemware, and tableware.

Kirwen’s Super Market, Main Street and Madison Street, Gibsonburg, OH Built around the turn of the 20th Century, these two Romanesque Revival and Queen Anne-style commercial buildings house Kirwen’s Supermarket, which occupies the ground level retail space of the buildings, and features mid-20th Century facade treatments on the exterior, including stone piers, an aluminum low-profile awning, and aluminum panels with vertical ribs. The brick buildings feature intact second floors with rusticated stone lintels and trim, with the building at the corner featuring an ornate cornice made up of brick corbels and suspended piers, stone trim, and features a five-bay front facade with a large band of rusticated stone trim above the second-story window openings and two smaller bands below, and a decorative pilaster and arched window openings on the side of the building. The building further from the corner also featuring a five-bay front facade, with the four outer bays featuring blind arches with stone and brick masonry above a series of paired windows with rusticated stone lintels and sills, and the central bay featuring a smaller window, the same rusticated stone lintel and sill, and no arch, a cornice with rusticated stone trim bands and brick corbels, and a datestone above the central bay on the first floor bearing the date of 1896. Judging by the signage and facade treatment, Kirwen’s has been in operation since the mid-20th Century, and is a great surviving example of the small supermarkets of the 1950s and 1960s that once served small towns like Gibsonburg, as well as various urban and suburban communities.

Old Hotel Wildey (International Order of Odd Fellows Hall), Main Street and Madison Street, Gibsonburg, OH Built in 1889, this Romanesque Revival-style building was constructed as the Hotel Wildey and a hall for the local branch of the fraternal International Order of Odd Fellows, as well as retail space at street level. The building features a brick facade with a decorative parapet featuring blind arches, recessed square panels, corbels, stone caps, and banded stone trim, pilasters on the second and third floors, tall arched window openings on the third floor with decorative stone and brick trim surrounds, including one displaying the name of the IOOF hall that built the building, an oxeye window in the parapet on the building’s chamfered corner with a rusticated stone ring surround, a tower behind the corner of the parapet, which once featured a now-removed hipped roof, decorative rusticated stone lintels and sills on the second floor, a rusticated stone base, and rusticated stone pediments above doorways on the first floor with a checkerboard lay pattern, as well as a mural featuring a donut umbrella on the side facade. The building served the local IOOF and as a hotel well into the 20th Century, but has since seen the upper floors partially vacated, with the first floor being home to a salon and beauty parlor business in one of the retail spaces, and the Ideal Bakery in the corner retail space. The first floor has been heavily altered with the addition of an EIFS facade with smaller windows, obscuring what remains of the original retail storefronts and original first floor facade treatment.
St. Michael Catholic Church, Madison Street and Suter Street, Gibsonburg, OH Built in 1904-05, this Gothic Revival-style church was designed by William P. Ginther and built to house the congregation of St. Michael Catholic Church. The church features a rusticated stone facade with a cross-gable roof, gothic arched stained glass windows and blind arches, a corner tower with a tall copper-clad spire topped by a cross with four smaller pinnacles at the corners, stone corbeling, pinnacles at corners of the building, a front entrance with a gothic arched-portal featuring a trefoil motif, and buttresses. The parish also features an adjacent Prairie-style rectory with a red brick facade and hipped roof with broad overhanging eaves, and a rear parish hall with a simple exterior and gabled roof. St. Michael Parish continues to serve Gibsonburg, and has, in recent times, entered a form of association with St. Mary Parish in nearby Helena, Ohio.
