The Tiffin Historic Trust (THT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich history of Tiffin, Ohio. Founded in 1972, THT works to preserve, protect, and share the history of the city of Tiffin and Seneca County. Through its preservation efforts, THT works to maintain historic structures, sites, and artifacts that are important to the community. THT also works to educate the public about Tiffin’s history and engages in outreach efforts to ensure the history of the city and county is shared widely.
THT is comprised of a board of trustees and a staff of dedicated volunteers who work to maintain and protect the city's history and heritage. The board meets regularly to coordinate and advise on all preservation efforts. The staff is responsible for researching and collecting information on the history of Tiffin, as well as maintaining and restoring historic sites and artifacts.
THT is actively involved in many preservation efforts throughout the city, such as the preservation and restoration of the historic Market Street Bridge, the restoration of the Seneca County Courthouse, and the creation of the Tiffin Heritage Trail. The Trust also operates the Hedges-Boyer Park and is actively engaged in the Tiffin Historic Preservation Plan.
Through its efforts, THT plays an important role in ensuring that the history of Tiffin is not forgotten and that the city’s historic structures, sites, and artifacts are preserved for future generations.
