The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Hendrick Hudson Chapter is a non-profit organization located in Hudson, New York. The chapter is a part of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, which was founded in 1890 to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
The Hendrick Hudson Chapter was organized in 1905 and named after the famous explorer, Henry Hudson, who sailed up the river that now bears his name in 1609. The chapter is dedicated to preserving the history of the American Revolution and honoring the patriots who fought for our independence.
The members of the Hendrick Hudson Chapter are involved in a variety of activities, including historic preservation, genealogy, and education. Membership in the Hendrick Hudson Chapter is open to any woman over the age of 18 who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution. The chapter meets regularly to plan events and activities and to promote the mission of the DAR.
