Fort Delaware was a military fortress located in Narrowsburg, New York. It was constructed in 1850 to protect the Delaware River from potential attacks by Confederate forces during the American Civil War. The fort was strategically situated on high ground, overlooking the river and surrounding countryside.

The fort was built with a series of stone walls and earthen embankments designed to withstand artillery fire. It could accommodate up to 500 soldiers and was equipped with barracks, kitchens, and a hospital. The fort's armament included 32 guns, including 10-inch and 8-inch smoothbore cannons.

Fort Delaware saw minimal military action during the Civil War, but it served as an important training ground for Union soldiers. After the war, the fort was used as a prison for Confederate soldiers, and later as a training center for the New York National Guard.

Today, Fort Delaware is a historic site that offers guided tours and educational programs. Visitors can explore the fort's various buildings and learn about its history and importance during the Civil War. The site also includes a museum with exhibits on the fort's role in the war and the daily life of soldiers stationed there.
