The Friends of the Jesse Owens Museum and Park in Moulton, Alabama is an organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of Jesse Owens, a four-time Olympic gold medalist in track and field. Owens was born in a small town in Alabama, and the Museum and Park honor his memory and the values he embodied.

The Friends of the Jesse Owens Museum and Park was formed in 2002, and the museum opened in 2006. The museum features interactive exhibits and displays highlighting Owens’ accomplishments and the impact his life and legacy have had on the world. In addition, the Museum and Park host a variety of educational and cultural events throughout the year, such as lectures and workshops.

The Park portion of the Museum and Park, located next to the museum, is a five-acre area with a memorial wall honoring Owens, a statue of the Olympian, and a track and field area. Visitors can walk the track and field area and learn about Owens’ career and accomplishments.

The Friends of the Jesse Owens Museum and Park also offers educational programming to school groups, providing educational materials and activities that focus on Owens’ life, values, and accomplishments. The goal of the organization is to inspire and motivate the next generation of leaders by teaching the principles and values that Owens embodied.

The Museum and Park are open to the public and offer free admission. The Friends of the Jesse Owens Museum and Park strive to keep Owens’ legacy alive and to educate the community about his life and accomplishments.
