The Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles, California is the largest museum in the United States dedicated to sharing the history and culture of Japanese Americans. Founded in 1992, the museum has evolved into a comprehensive cultural center for Japanese American history, culture, and art. Located in the historic Little Tokyo district of downtown Los Angeles, the museum is housed in two historic buildings, the former Nishi Hongwanji Buddhist Temple and the former home of Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple. The museum offers a variety of exhibits and programs that explore the experiences of Japanese Americans.

The museum’s permanent exhibits tell the story of the Japanese American experience, from the earliest immigrants to the present day. The museum also hosts rotating exhibitions in its galleries that feature works by contemporary Japanese American artists. Additionally, the museum offers educational programs and resources, including lectures, workshops, and performances, as well as a research library and archives.

The museum also has a gift shop and a café that serves Japanese-inspired dishes. The museum is open to the public seven days a week and admission is free for members, children under five, and students with valid ID. Visitors can also take part in guided tours, special events, and other activities. The Japanese American National Museum works to ensure that the stories and culture of Japanese Americans are remembered and shared for future generations.
