The Westervelt Foundation is located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and was established in 1993 by Jack E. and Patricia A. Westervelt. The mission of the Westervelt Foundation is to improve the quality of life in Tuscaloosa and surrounding communities by investing in and supporting organizations and programs that enhance education, promote health and well-being, and protect natural resources.

The Westervelt Foundation focuses on three primary areas: education, health and wellness, and environmental conservation. The Foundation provides grants to nonprofit organizations and programs that support these areas in Tuscaloosa and surrounding communities. It also provides scholarships and awards to students in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

The Foundation also supports a variety of educational and awareness campaigns. It sponsors the annual Tuscaloosa Earth Day Festival, which focuses on environmental stewardship and conservation. The Westervelt Foundation also partners with the University of Alabama to provide various educational programming for both youth and adults.

The Foundation also supports several annual events and initiatives throughout the year, including the Westervelt Foundation Lecture Series, the Tuscaloosa Youth Leadership Program, the Tuscaloosa Area Arts Council’s Summer Arts Camp, the Tuscaloosa Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, and the West Alabama Regional Science and Engineering Fair.
