The Gorgas House Museum is located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on the University of Alabama campus. The house is the oldest structure on campus, having been built in 1829. It was originally the home of Confederate General Josiah Gorgas and his family, who lived in it until the Civil War. After the war, it was used as a women's dormitory and a faculty residence. In the 1930s it was renovated and opened as a museum with exhibits highlighting the history of the University of Alabama.

The house is a two-story brick building with a Colonial Revival style. Its features include a front porch, wood shingles, and a central chimney. Inside, visitors can explore the two parlors, study, dining room, kitchen, and bedrooms. The house is furnished with period pieces, allowing visitors to get a feel for what life was like in the Gorgas home.

The museum also includes a library, which houses a variety of books, manuscripts, and archives related to the history of the University of Alabama. The library contains documents from the Gorgas family, as well as other materials from the 19th and 20th centuries.

The Gorgas House Museum offers a variety of educational programs and tours for students and the public. It serves as a reminder of the University's rich history and the long-standing relationship between the Gorgas family and the University.
