Historic Gardens of Newburyport and Environs Inc. is a non-profit organization located in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Founded in 2000, the organization’s mission is to promote, preserve, and protect the historic gardens of the Newburyport area. The organization works to preserve and restore both public and private gardens and landscapes, as well as educate the public about the importance of maintaining historic landscapes.

The organization’s primary project is the preservation and restoration of the historic gardens at Spencer Pierce Little Farm. Located on a 4-acre site in Newbury, Massachusetts, the farm dates back to the mid-1700s and includes several historic gardens, including a period-style vegetable garden, a formal English garden, and a woodland garden. The organization has also worked on the restoration of a number of other gardens in the area, including the gardens at the Francis W. Parker House and the gardens at the Whitefield House.

In addition to its preservation and restoration projects, Historic Gardens of Newburyport and Environs Inc. also offers educational programming, including lectures, workshops, and field trips. Through these programs, the organization seeks to increase the public’s knowledge and appreciation for historic gardens and their importance in our cultural and natural heritage.
