The Johnson County Revitalization Corporation (JCRC) is a non-profit organization located in Vienna, Illinois. Founded in 1989, the JCRC has worked to improve the quality of life for residents of Johnson County and beyond. The organization’s primary goal is to assist communities in developing and sustaining economic growth.

The JCRC has a variety of programs and services that it provides to the community, including business development and job creation, housing and infrastructure, and community outreach. It also offers a variety of educational and training opportunities, including financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and small business development.

Johnson County Honor Roll - Vienna, IL The honor roll lists the names of many who have served. This is located on the Vienna town square in front of the library.

Great Egret - Mermet Lake, IL This white long-legged wader was in search of a meal in the swamp just outside the dyke on Mermet Lake. Great egrets are very closely related to Great Blue Herons and not their smaller white counter parts like the Snowy and Cattle Egrets. It just so happens that they are all white. The name Egret is really a place holder for white wading birds rather than a family group. These birds were once highly prized for they're breeding plumage and hunted world wide.

Johnson County Courthouse - Vienna, IL From Wikipedia:
The Johnson County Courthouse, located at Courthouse Square in Vienna, is the county courthouse serving Johnson County, Illinois. The courthouse was built from 1869 to 1871; as county records are unclear on the matter, the courthouse was either the fourth or fifth built in the county and the second or third in Vienna. Architect Niles Llewelly Wickwire designed the courthouse in the Italianate style. The courthouse's design features narrow arched windows with iron hoods, brick quoins on the corners, triangular pediments above the east and west entrances, and a bracketed cornice. The roof is topped by an octagonal cupola with a clock facing each side of the building. The courthouse has functioned continuously since its opening.

The courthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 9, 2010.

The Vienna Public Library, also known as Vienna Carnegie Library, is a Carnegie library at 401 Poplar St. in Vienna, Illinois. It was built in 1911 with a $5000 grant from the Carnegie Foundation. The brick building, designed by local architect Thomas Clymer, features a tall flight of stairs leading to the front entrance; two pilasters flank the staircase. The building provided a permanent home for Vienna's library program, which was established in 1895 and had rotated through a number of local buildings prior to 1911. County medical services have also been based in the library: The American Red Cross used the building as its headquarters during a 1917 influenza outbreak, and a trachoma clinic operated in the basement from 1936 to 1964. The building has also been used as a gym, a headquarters for city services, and a meeting place for several women's organizations and the Johnson County Historical Society.

The library was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 24, 1995. It is one of two buildings on the National Register in Johnson County, along with the Johnson County Courthouse.

Chattanooga Tenn

This is the first Rock City Barn I've found in Illinois. (I only know of one other.) It's located along US45 in Johnson County visible to southbound traffic from Vienna.

I got there when the sun was direct overhead and the lighting on the barn roof doesn't really meet my expectations, but I was on a schedule.

This is now one of <b>93</b> different Rock City Barns I have photographed and uploaded to Flickr in my <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/brent_nashville/sets/72057594110803986/">Rock City Barns set</a>. I'm not sure it's possible for me to get to 100. People often ask me how I've found so many of them. I have drawn from many resources such as books and web sites and sometimes luck, but there's not really one &quot;go to&quot; place to find them all. Well, now on my website, I have tried to create a one stop source for the locations of all of the barns I've been to. <b>UPDATE:</b> This one was repainted just a month after I was there!

Old Ullin Depot (Pulaski County, Illinois) Historic Illinois Central Railroad station in Ullin, Illinois. This station was the third in Ullin and was built as a combination passenger and freight depot in 1897. Passenger service ended in 1972. The building has housed the Ullin Village Hall and Library since 2012.

The former railroad station was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999 (NRHP No. 99000978 as the Illinois Central Railroad Depot).
