The New Salem Lincoln League (NSLL) was founded in 1936 in Petersburg, Illinois. It is a non-profit organization that seeks to preserve and promote the memory of Abraham Lincoln, his legacy, and the community of New Salem. The NSLL is dedicated to preserving and protecting the historical sites in and around the village of New Salem. It also provides educational programming to the public, including guided tours of New Salem, an annual Lincoln Symposium, and the production of "Lincoln Lore," a publication that focuses on Abraham Lincoln’s life and times and the history of the area.

The New Salem Lincoln League is the official steward of the Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site, which was the home of Thomas and Sarah Bush Lincoln and their son Abraham. The League is responsible for the preservation and maintenance of this site, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The League also works to protect other areas of historical significance in the area, such as the site of the original New Salem village, the site of the Lincoln-Herndon Law Office, and the site of the New Salem Post Office.

The NSLL also works to promote tourism in the area by producing and distributing brochures, organizing events, and working with local businesses to promote the area’s history and attractions. The League also works with local schools and youth groups to provide educational programs about Abraham Lincoln and the history of the area.

The League is funded by donations, grants, and memberships. Members of the League receive newsletters, discounts on events and publications, and access to exclusive tours and programs.
