Greenlee County Historical Society Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of Greenlee County, Arizona. Founded in 1968, the society has been collecting, preserving and displaying artifacts and archival material for over fifty years. The society is headquartered in the historic Gila County Courthouse in Clifton, Arizona, and operates a museum and research facility for the public to enjoy and explore the rich history of Greenlee County.
The museum boasts a wide variety of collections and exhibits, including a diverse selection of artifacts from the area’s Native American tribes, early settlers, and the mining industry. Visitors can learn more about the county’s people, places, and events through photographs, documents, and artifacts.
The society also offers a variety of educational programs and workshops to the public, including lectures, guided tours, and volunteer opportunities. The society also preserves and maintains various historic sites and buildings throughout the county, such as the Duncan Mansion, the Clifton Commercial Historic District, and the Duncan Post Office.
