The National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame (NIASHF) is located in Chicago, Illinois. Established in 1977, the Hall of Fame honors Italian-American athletes, coaches and contributors who have made outstanding contributions to sports in the United States. It is the only organization of its kind that honors both male and female Italian-American athletes.
The Hall of Fame is located in the former home of the Italian American Sports Hall of Fame, the Casa Italia Social Club. It is a two-story building that houses a museum, exhibit hall and library. The museum contains over 150 artifacts, including photos, trophies, uniforms, equipment and memorabilia from the lives of Italian-American athletes. The exhibit hall showcases the achievements of Hall of Famers and includes plaques, interactive displays and video presentations. The library houses a collection of books and articles about Italian-American athletes and sports.
The NIASHF also hosts events throughout the year, such as the Annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and the Annual Italian American Sports Gala. Additionally, the Hall of Fame offers educational programs and scholarships for high school and college students, as well as outreach programs to promote physical education and sports among Italian-American youth. The NIASHF is committed to celebrating and preserving the accomplishments of Italian-American athletes and their contributions to sports in the United States.
