The Spring Valley Historic Association (SVHA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the rich history of Spring Valley, Illinois. Founded in 1977, its mission is to “preserve and promote the history of Spring Valley and its vicinity through education, research, and publications.” The SVHA is based in the historic 1891 Old City Hall building located in the downtown area.

The SVHA offers a variety of programs and initiatives to promote the history of Spring Valley and its surrounding area. The association produces an annual newsletter and hosts a variety of educational programs, lectures, and workshops. It also participates in community events such as the Spring Valley Historical Festival, which is held each year in October. Additionally, the association offers a variety of historic tours, including the popular “Pathways of the Past” walking tours.

The SVHA is supported by a number of civic organizations, including the Spring Valley Historical Society and the Spring Valley Public Library. It is also supported by donations from local businesses, organizations, and individuals. The SVHA strives to make sure that the history of Spring Valley is preserved and remembered for future generations.
