The Seneca Historical Guild was established in 1987 with the mission of preserving and promoting the history of Seneca, Illinois and the surrounding area. It is a nonprofit organization that is governed by an elected board of directors and managed by a staff of volunteers. Its headquarters is located in the former Seneca Post Office building.
The Guild collects and preserves artifacts and documents related to the history of Seneca. The Guild also offers tours of historical sites in the area, such as the Seneca Cemetery, the Seneca Depot, and the Seneca Opera House.
