The Historic Elsah Foundation, founded in 1967, is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to preserving and promoting the historic village of Elsah, Illinois. Located along the Mississippi River in Jersey County, Elsah is a small, picturesque village filled with 19th-century buildings and homes. The Historic Elsah Foundation is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the village’s history.

The Historic Elsah Foundation works to promote the preservation of the historic structures, resources, and cultural heritage of the village. The Foundation has successfully saved and restored many of the buildings in the village, including the 1876 Grafton House and the 1898 Elsah School.
