The Haines Museum in Waukegan, Illinois is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history, culture and art of the Waukegan area. Founded in 1979, the Museum is housed in the historic Walker School building and is dedicated to the preservation of the area's rich history and culture.

The Museum's permanent collection consists of over 8,000 artifacts, including photographs, paintings, textiles and fine art, as well as a library and archives. The museum also houses a variety of changing exhibitions, programs and events throughout the year.

The Museum's permanent collection includes such artifacts as the Haines family bible, the first telephone in Waukegan, and a variety of historical photographs, documents, and artifacts related to the area's history. The Haines Museum is a great place to learn about the history and culture of the Waukegan area. The Museum offers a variety of educational programs for school groups and adults, as well as special exhibits and events. It is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 12p.m. to 4p.m. Admission is free.
