The International Polka Association (IPA) is a non-profit organization established in Chicago, Illinois, in 1971. It is dedicated to preserving and promoting polka music and its culture. The IPA has organized and presented polka festivals, concerts, conventions, workshops, and other events throughout the United States and Canada since its founding. The IPA is open to anyone with an interest in polka music and encourages participation from all ages and backgrounds.

The IPA is composed of five governing boards: the Board of Directors, which is responsible for the overall direction of the organization; the Executive Board, which is responsible for the day-to-day operations; the Advisory Board, which advises the Board of Directors on matters of policy and procedure; the Committee on Awards and Recognition, which recognizes excellence in polka music; and the Committee on Education, which promotes polka music education.

The IPA hosts an annual Polka Festival in Chicago in July. The festival includes a variety of polka bands, dance lessons, and competitions, as well as an assortment of Polish cuisine and traditional beverages. The festival culminates with a polka parade and outdoor concert on the lakefront.

The IPA also holds a National Polka Convention in June and an International Polka Convention in August. These conventions are attended by polka musicians, dancers, and other enthusiasts from around the world. The conventions feature performances, workshops, and discussions on polka music and culture.

The IPA publishes a monthly magazine, Polka World, which covers all aspects of polka music and culture. The magazine is available in both print and digital formats. The IPA also maintains an online store selling books, CDs, DVDs, and other polka merchandise.

The IPA is committed to preserving and promoting the history and culture of polka music. Through its various events, publications, and other activities, the IPA works to ensure that polka music remains a vibrant part of the musical landscape.
