Old Livingston High School (Pink Elephant Antiques), Veterans Memorial Drive and Livingston Avenue, Livingston, IL Built in 1926-1927 and expanded with a rear addition in 1949, this Classical Revival and Art Moderne-style building served as the public high school of Livingston, Illinois until it was consolidated with schools in other nearby towns in 2004. Harkey House is a historic home located in Hillsboro, Illinois. The house was built in 1856 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is a two-story brick building with a gable roof and two-story porch. The house has a symmetrical façade with the main entrance in the center. There are two windows on each side of the entrance and two windows on the second floor. The house has a two-story ell in the rear and two-story bay windows on the south and east sides.

The house was built by John Harkey, a prominent local businessman, and was the family home until the early 1900s. The house features Greek Revival and Italianate architectural elements and has been preserved in its original condition. The interior of the house features period furnishings, including a grand entrance hall, parlor, and dining room.

The grounds of Harkey House include a variety of outbuildings, including a spring house, smokehouse, barn, and icehouse. There is also a gazebo, a pond, and a variety of trees, shrubs, and flowers. The house is open to the public for tours and is used for special events. Harkey House is a popular destination for visitors to the Hillsboro area and is a reminder of the area’s rich history.
