The Friends of the Sonoran Desert National Monument (FSDNM) is a nonprofit organization that works to protect and preserve the Sonoran Desert National Monument in Tempe, Arizona. The mission of FSDNM is to educate, advocate, and promote stewardship of the Monument’s public lands and wildlife. FSDNM works in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Arizona Game and Fish Department, and other local partners to ensure that the Monument is protected and managed for the benefit of future generations.

FSDNM offers a variety of educational and volunteer opportunities for people of all ages. The organization’s volunteer programs range from helping to restore the desert ecosystem by removing invasive species to conducting surveys and monitoring wildlife activity. FSDNM also hosts educational programs and public events to help raise awareness of the Monument and the importance of desert conservation.

In addition to its volunteer programs, FSDNM works to advocate for the protection of the Monument. Through its website, the organization provides information on the Monument’s history, ecology, and wildlife, and encourages people to contact their local representatives to express their support for the Monument’s continued protection.
