The Estero Island Historic Society Inc., located in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of the island. The Society was founded in 1999 by a group of citizens and local businesses with the mission of preserving the heritage and culture of the island and its surrounding areas.

The Society preserves historic sites, artifacts and archives related to the island’s history, and also serves as an educational resource for the community. The Society offers a variety of programs, including lectures, field trips, archaeological surveys, and other related educational activities that promote and preserve the history of the island.

The Society also maintains a museum, library and archives. The museum features exhibits that tell the story of the island’s history, from its early settlers to the present day.
