Union Depot and Atlantic Coast Line Freight Station is a historic building located in Live Oak, Florida. The depot was built in 1903 and served as a transportation hub for both passengers and freight in the Live Oak area. The building features a unique combination of architectural styles, including Queen Anne, Romanesque, and Tudor Revival.
The Union Depot was originally used by the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, which was a major transportation company in the southeastern United States. The building was also used by other railroad companies, including the Seaboard Air Line Railroad, which merged with the Atlantic Coast Line in 1967.
The freight station, which is located adjacent to the Union Depot, was used to handle the shipment of goods and materials. It features a large loading dock and multiple storage areas for goods.
Today, the Union Depot and Atlantic Coast Line Freight Station have been restored and are used as a community center and event space. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a significant part of Live Oak's history and cultural heritage.
