The Alpine Historical Society of Sutton, Alaska is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of the area. Pika Collared Pika - Ochotona collaris Distant view--a friend saw them much closer earlier, but they retreated with more human traffic.
HM Hoary marmot - Marmota caligata Several were active along trails in this area. This one came up close and crossed the trail near us, perhaps responding to a territorial intruder on the other side. I wish I had been able to record their loud whistle.
