SALEM HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The Salem Historical Society is a non-profit organization located in Salem, Connecticut. Founded in 1991, the Society is dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of Salem and its surrounding areas. The Society's mission is to collect and preserve artifacts, documents, photographs, and other historical materials to tell the story of Salem and the surrounding towns.

The Society's headquarters is located in the historic Salem Town Hall, which was built in 1835. The Town Hall is open to the public and houses a museum and library, as well as a research center. The museum contains artifacts and photographs from the area's past, as well as interactive displays. The library contains a collection of books and other materials related to the history of Salem and its surrounding areas.

The Society also offers a variety of educational programs, including lectures, tours, and special events. The Society also hosts an annual festival, which celebrates the history of Salem, and a monthly lecture series.
