The Wolcott Historical Society Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the history of the town of Wolcott, Connecticut. Founded in 1967, the Society is responsible for the maintenance of the historical records, artifacts, photographs and other items of interest that represent the town’s past. The Society also works to educate the public about the town’s history and organizes events, programs and exhibits.

The Society is housed in the historic William W. Cowles House, a two-story colonial style home that was built in 1790. The house serves as the Society’s headquarters and museum. It holds a collection of over 4,000 artifacts and photographs, and the Society offers guided tours of the house and its collections.

The Society is also responsible for the preservation of several other historical sites in the town, including the Bacon Academy, the Wolcott Congregational Church, the Wolcott Public Library, and the Wolcott Green. The Society also works to preserve the natural beauty of the area, and hosts an annual Historic Homes Tour.

The Society hosts events throughout the year, including a Summer Concert Series, a holiday tree lighting, and a yearly car show. It also offers educational programs and lectures on various topics related to Wolcott history. The Society is committed to preserving the past and educating the public about the history of the town.
