The Torrington Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating and preserving the history of Torrington, Connecticut. Founded in 1932, the Society has been collecting and preserving artifacts and documents, researching and writing about the history of the town, holding public programs and events, and providing educational opportunities related to Torrington's history.

The Torrington Historical Society is located in the historic Hotchkiss-Fyler House, a late-Victorian home built in 1872. The house, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, has been fully restored and houses the Society's library, archives, museum, and administrative offices.

The Society's museum features permanent and rotating exhibits about Torrington's history. Past exhibits have included topics such as the history of the town's iron industry, the area's Native American population, and the history of the local textile mills. The Society's archives include an extensive collection of books, documents, photographs, and artifacts related to Torrington's history.

In addition to preserving and promoting Torrington's history, the Society also works to promote local heritage tourism. The Society hosts walking tours of the town and offers a variety of educational programming for the public. The Society also participates in special events such as Torrington's annual Heritage Festival.
