The Creede Historical Society Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, protecting and promoting the unique cultural and historical heritage of Creede, Colorado. Founded in 1973, the Creede Historical Society Inc. seeks to educate the public about the history of the area through its museum, archives, library, and other activities held throughout the year.

The museum is housed in the historic Creede Hotel, which was built in 1895 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Inside the museum, visitors can explore a variety of exhibits that tell the story of Creede’s rich history and the many characters who have called the town home. The museum also houses a variety of artifacts, photographs, documents, and other items that tell the story of Creede’s past.

The society’s archives contain a wealth of information on the area’s history, as well as a library of books, periodicals, and other materials related to Creede’s history and culture. The society also organizes lectures, tours, and other events throughout the year to help educate the public about the area’s history and culture.
