WESTERN COLORADO BOTANICAL GARDENS

The Western Colorado Botanical Gardens in Grand Junction, Colorado is a nonprofit, educational organization devoted to preserving and promoting the botanical heritage of western Colorado. This botanical garden displays over 10 acres of gardens, including a beautiful xeric garden, with plants from the arid mountain regions of the western United States, as well as from the semi-arid and desert regions of the Southwest.

The gardens are open to the public and free of charge. There are also educational program offerings for all ages, including classes and workshops for adults, family programs, and children's classes and camps. The gardens also host various events and activities throughout the year, such as a spring bulb walk and a summer concert series.

The gardens are home to more than 500 species of plants, including many hardy perennials, trees, shrubs, and grasses. Some of the notable plants include Rocky Mountain columbine, wildflowers, cacti, and succulents. The gardens also feature a large collection of roses, and a wide variety of annuals, water plants, and vegetables.

The gardens are maintained and managed by staff members and volunteers, and are open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The gardens are also open Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
