The University of Colorado Museum of Natural History in Boulder, Colorado is a public museum dedicated to the collection and interpretation of the natural history of Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region. Established in 1877, it is the oldest museum in Colorado and one of the oldest museums west of the Mississippi River. The museum is home to over 4 million specimens, including fossils, rocks, minerals, plants, sea shells, insects, and other natural history artifacts.
