The Pacific Locomotive Association (PLA) is an educational non-profit organization that focuses on the preservation of railroad history in the West. It is located in Sunol, California and was established in 1961. The PLA is dedicated to the preservation of railroad artifacts, locomotives, cars, and equipment for the purpose of educating the public about the role of railroads in the development of the West.

The PLA owns and operates the Niles Canyon Railway, an historic narrow gauge railway that was built in the 1880s. The PLA also owns and operates two historic steam locomotives, the William Crooks and the C.P. Huntington, both of which are used for excursion rides. In addition, the PLA operates a museum in Sunol that features a variety of railroad artifacts.

The PLA is also involved in a number of educational programs and events. The organization hosts a variety of excursions, such as special trips to Niles Canyon and other railroads, as well as train rides to special events. The PLA also organizes a variety of lectures, tours, and special events throughout the year.

The PLA is committed to preserving and teaching the history of railroads in the West, and its efforts have helped to ensure that the public can enjoy and appreciate the important role played by railroads in the development of the West.
