The Pena Adobe Historical Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the heritage of Vacaville, California. Founded in 1975, the Society works to preserve the historical identity of the community by preserving significant buildings, artifacts and documents.

The Pena Adobe, built in 1842, is the centerpiece of the Historical Society’s collection. The adobe is the oldest remaining structure in the city and has been the subject of numerous archaeological excavations. In addition, the Society maintains a museum building, which houses a diverse collection of artifacts from Vacaville’s past. This includes furniture, tools, clothing, photographs, and more.

The Society holds regular events and programs to educate visitors about the history of Vacaville. These include guided tours of the Pena Adobe, living history demonstrations, and lectures on a variety of historic topics. The Society also publishes a quarterly newsletter, The Adobe News, which is full of interesting articles and news items related to the history of Vacaville.
