The Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame (BASHOF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring Bay Area athletes, coaches, and teams, and preserving the history of local sports for future generations. Founded in 1979, BASHOF is based in San Francisco, California and is the premier regional sports hall of fame in the United States.

BASHOF honors a new class each year at its annual Induction Dinner and Awards Gala, which is held in the spring at various venues in the Bay Area. Each inductee is honored with a plaque that details their accomplishments, which is then displayed in the Hall of Fame’s permanent home, located at the San Francisco Airport. The Hall of Fame also honors non-inductees with the “Lifetime Achievement Award” and the “Outstanding Achievement Award.”

The Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame also sponsors several youth and community programs, including the BASHOF Scholars Program and the BASHOF Youth Program. The Scholars Program provides college scholarships to Bay Area high school seniors who have excelled academically and athletically. The Youth Program provides free tickets to Bay Area sporting events for underprivileged youth.

The Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame is an important part of the Bay Area’s sports culture and history. It’s a great place to visit and learn about the accomplishments of some of the greatest athletes, coaches, and teams to come out of the area.
