The Potrero Hill Archives Project (PHAP) is a non-profit organization located in San Francisco, California. Founded in 2001, PHAP is dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich history of Potrero Hill, a working-class neighborhood located on the southern edge of San Francisco. PHAP collects, preserves, and makes available to the public a variety of primary and secondary source material pertaining to the history of Potrero Hill, including photographs, oral histories, letters, documents, maps, newspapers, and ephemera.

PHAP’s collections are organized into several distinct categories, including business, organizations and institutions, people, places, events, and activities. PHAP also maintains a library of books, journals, and other published works relating to Potrero Hill’s history. Additionally, PHAP sponsors and participates in various educational programs and special events in the community, such as lectures, film screenings, and walking tours.

PHAP’s staff members are available to offer research assistance to the public and host presentations and workshops about the history of Potrero Hill. PHAP also accepts donations of materials and financial contributions from individuals and organizations interested in preserving the neighborhood’s history. Through its ongoing efforts, PHAP is helping to ensure that the rich history of Potrero Hill is not forgotten.
