The Sacramento Civil War Round Table (SCWRTA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the study and preservation of the history of the American Civil War. It was founded in 1964 and has since become a respected organization in the Sacramento region. It has over 150 members, including scholars, historians, and enthusiasts of the Civil War. The SCWRTA meets monthly, usually the first Thursday of the month. Meetings feature lectures, discussions, and presentations from scholars, authors, and living historians about various aspects of the Civil War. There are also field trips to Civil War sites, book clubs, and social events. The SCWRTA also has a library that is open to the public and contains a large collection of books, magazines, and other materials about the Civil War. The SCWRTA also publishes a newsletter four times a year that includes articles, book reviews, and other information about the Civil War.
