The Pacific House, built in 1847, is a Victorian-era mansion that served as a hotel and later as a school. The First Brick House, built in 1847, is the oldest brick house in California and was once the residence of the first American Consul to Monterey, Thomas Larkin. The Stevenson House, built in 1830, is the former home of Robert Louis Stevenson and his wife Fanny.

The Maritime Museum exhibits a collection of over 6,000 artifacts and documents that illustrate the maritime history of Monterey Bay, from the indigenous peoples who first inhabited the area to the commercial fishing industry of the early 20th century.
