Rolling into Rawlins After a questionable experience on a bridge near Hanna, #4014 made up for lost time and ran towards Rawlins, Wyoming. Because of the delays, the light edged closer and closer towards the golden hour - not quite there, but certainly close, which was just enough for a brilliant view of the train rolling into town a few dozen yards from my hotel! Immediately after the train had passed, we stumbled down the embankment and crashed into our room, listening to the sound of the Big Boy in the distance as we ended the first day of many on the great race.
