The Buellton Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the history and culture of the region. Established in 1987, the society seeks to collect and preserve records, documents, photographs and artifacts from all periods of Buellton’s history. The society also strives to educate the public about the history of Buellton through educational programming and publications.

The group meets monthly to discuss current projects and upcoming events. Through its membership, the society is able to draw on a wide range of resources from local individuals, families and organizations. The society is also affiliated with the Santa Barbara County Historical Society and is a member of the California Historical Society.
